American Cruise Lines is dipping its toes into the cool waters of the San Francisco Bay with the launch of its first California cruise in 2023.

The cruise line is gearing up for the 2023 launch of its 8-day San Francisco Bay cruise, round trip from San Francisco, exploring the famous City on the Bay, Napa Valley and San Joaquin Valley. Riverboat American Jazz will navigate the San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Napa River, Sacramento River and San Joaquin River to bring passengers to San Francisco and then inland to Stockton, Sacramento, Vallejo and Napa. Departure dates for the are: Feb. 17, Feb. 24, March 3, and March 10, 2023 and prices start at $6,095 per person. American Cruise Lines offers domestic flat-rate airfare on its U.S. cruises.

“Exploring this beautiful region of Northern California by riverboat will provide a new opportunity for our guests to discover the Bay Area and the Napa Valley in an exceptional way… many have driven there, but not many can say they have actually cruised through wine country,” said Charles Robertson, president & CEO of American Cruise Lines, in a press statement.

The journey allows guests to experience both the traditional Bay Area sites and attractions as well as those off the beaten path. Outings to well-known places like Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf or one of Napa’s wineries are balanced with trips to lesser-known sites like the Stockton 99 Speedway for a NASCAR experience or tours of Old Sacramento’s underground city created in the 1860s when buildings and streets of California’s capital city were jacked up to get them out of the flood waters.

Onboard Bay Area-themed activities include wine presentations where guests can learn about and sample regional varieties and cooking demonstrations on local Northern Californian cuisine. Daily sunrise yoga sessions will also be offered.
