Tyga apologizes for mocking Mexican-Americans, deletes "Ay Caramba" video
Tyga apologized for his "Ay Caramba" music video at what time making an appearance on Power 106's LA Leakers, where he revealed with podcaster American Cholo.
The rapper's "Ay Caramba" music video, which featured Mexican stereotypes like a game show host wearing a sombrero, mariachis and an overweight man eating tortilla chips, was not well-received by the Mexican-American community.
American Cholo specializes in talking in misconceptions of Latinos and he spoke with Tyga in the dangers of his music video.
Tyga admitted he had heard the criticism but wanted to marinate on the query before coming out and saying something.
He wanted to boom with American Cholo on live radio to better plan why the "Ay Caramba" video was offensive when anunexperienced songs such as YG's "Go Loko" or "Ayy Macarena" were mainly hits.
Tyga explained that he never meant to offend anyone and was in fact paying homage to the Latino community.
He said the overweight represent eating tortilla chips was based on Eddy Murphy.
American Cholo argued that it's easy to plan his points if the "chips and lowrider" are traded for "fried chicken and watermelon."
The podcaster expected Tyga if he would delete the music video put down with the apology and although the rapper did not concede in that very moment, he did end up deleting the offensive, $250,000 video.
