Aaron Sorkin reveals To Kill A Mockingbird will NOT rear to Broadway, citing producer Scott Rudin
Aaron Sorkin has spoke that his To Kill A Mockingbird play will not rear to Broadway and has cited disgraced producer Scott Rudin as the main cause.
The Academy Award winner, 61, opened up about the play's untimely end in an email people by The New York Times.
In the meaning that Sorkin and director Bartlett Sher sent out to the show's cast and crew, they wrote, 'At the last moment, Scott [Rudin] reinserted himself as producer and for reasons which are, naively, incomprehensible to us both, he stopped the play from reopening.'

Rudin, who started facing abuse allegations back in 2021 by a number of past employees, responded to the Molly's Game director's comments with a statement of his own.
'The reason I opted not to bring back TKAM has to do with my lack of organization in the climate for plays next winter. I do not beget that a remount of Mockingbird would have been competitive in the marketplace.'
He ended, 'It’s too risky and the downside is too ample. I’m sorry you’re disappointed. It’s the right decision for the long life of the show.'

It was then shut down for for more than 18 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
