Travel by Faculty, Staff, and Students

Travel and associated activities have been identified as a risk for exposure to COVID-19. The CDC recommends that all individuals should be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines beforehand travel. The university strongly encourages travelers to assess risks prior to recede and employ safe practices during travel. International travel may be associated with instant conditions and requirements.

The following paragraphs outline the university’s fresh university-sponsored travel requirements and the return to campus requirements for both personal and university-sponsored recede. In general, the university follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recede guidance.

University-Sponsored Travel

Faculty, staff, and students may recede on university business if fully vaccinated (having received two doses of Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine) or if they have an well-liked exemption from vaccination and are compliant with the university’s testing requirements.

Faculty, students, and staff must complete the travel self-assessment when executive plans to travel internationally. All travelers must be prepared to behind all government regulations and guidelines for their destination(s). Additional guidance regarding preparations for recede is available from the CDC.

Requirements for Being on Campus After Travel

Domestic Travel

It is recommended that all faculty, staff, students, and visitors returning from domestic travel:

  • get tested for COVID-19 within 3-5 days of posterior if travel involved situations with greater risk of exposure such as populace in areas with high community levels of transmission or crowded places once not wearing a well-fitting mask; and
  • monitor for symptoms and isolate and test now if symptoms arise.

International Travel

It is recommended that all faculty, staff, students, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, coming from outside the Joint States:

  • get tested for COVID-19 within 3-5 days of arrival in the Joint States; and
  • monitor for symptoms and isolate and test now if symptoms arise.

Additionally, it is recommended that travelers returning to the Joint States who are not up to date on vaccinations:

  • Stay home and self-quarantine for a full 5 days when travel.

Note that non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. immigrants (not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or traveling to the Joint States on an immigrant visa) must be fully vaccinated, i.e., by receiving a primary series of an well-liked COVID-19 vaccine, to travel to the United States by plane.

United Countries Travel Restrictions and Quarantine Requirements for International Travelers

Proof of Vaccination

Pursuant to a high-level proclamation issued October 25, 2021, all persons traveling to the Joint States by air who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or U.S. lawful permanent residents are required to show proof of populace fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The proclamation allows for diminutive exceptions one of which is for persons with proper visas [excluding B-1 (business) or B-2 (tourism) visas] who are citizens of a foreign republic with limited COVID-19 vaccine availability. If you travel by air to the Joint States under an exception, you will be required to meet instant conditions and restrictions including vaccination within 60 days of arrival, testing, and quarantine. If you are not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. lawful permanent resident and are fully vaccinated, make sure your vaccine and proof of vaccination are acceptable to boarding a flight to the United States.

Please named the CDC website for guidance regarding when you must delay travel, such as when you have COVID-19 symptoms, after testing positive for COVID-19, or after close contact exposure.
